Terms of Service

Effective: July 31, 2026

1. Agreement

By using Next Up, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

2. What Next Up is

A personal task-capture app. It works locally on your device without an account; signing in is optional and only enables syncing your own data across your own devices. Next Up is for single-user private lists — there is no sharing or collaboration.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Your account

Sign-in is passwordless, using a one-time link sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can receive your sign-in link can access your account. Accounts are for a single person; you’re responsible for activity under your account.

5. Acceptable use

Use Next Up for your own personal task management. Don’t use it unlawfully, and don’t attempt to disrupt, attack, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users’ data.

6. Your content

Your tasks and other content are yours. We don’t claim ownership. You’re responsible for what you put into the app, and we access your content only as needed to operate and support the service (see the Privacy Policy).

7. The service is provided “as is”

Next Up is a free service provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data won’t be lost — please keep your own backups using the export feature. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, John Rafferty is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Next Up.

9. Termination

You may stop using Next Up and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated or to protect the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
